IN THE EVENT OF FIRE a band from the south west of germany/Saarlouis was founded by Dominik Schuhn, Nikola Fries and Thomas Hartmann in 2005. First they were in a threesome. After playing their first shows even in the same year Dennis Naumann joined the band in order to open new ways making music. Since then their sound transformed from hardcore/punk rock to a sound way more melodic and experimental but without forgetting their roots. The result is a mixture of all the experiences and the range of music styles these guys got formed in their early days. In the summer of 2007 IN THE EVENT OF FIRE recorded their first four song demo cd “Humanity” by themselves. They used them for promotion and giving first impressions of their sound. Half a year later they won the Rockwell band challenge and ITEOF played on the same titled festival. These guys shared the stage with bands like Mad Caddies, Sonic Syndicate, Rantanplan, Rentokill, Eternal Tango, Peter Pan Speedrock, Mad Sin, Strung Out, Venerea, Not Available and many more. March 2009 ITEOF’s first studio album called BLACK DOVES RISE appeared in collaboration with Phil Hillen(Cheeno) who recorded, produced and mastered it in SU2 Studio/Illingen – Germany. BDR includes eight songs about forty minutes which combine poetic captured thoughts and daily philosophies with the four guys own and special sound! IN THE EVENT OF FIRE is working on new stuff and songs which will take shape in their second full length cd. To give some first perspectives it will be about processes of self-reflection and the cognition self-reflection entails…
