On 1996, Mario ( drums ) and Ciro ( bass ) created this group to enter the world of metropolitan Punk-Hardcore music. After several changes, Alessio ( guitars ) joins the group, then Angelo ( the 2nd guitars player) and finally Emilio, the first singer. In december 1997, the Musty Wig recorded their first DEMO, titled "There's nothing worst", eight songs caracterized a mixture of different styles : hardcore, rock and melodies belonging to the "californianpunk"style. On 1998, Luca ( guitars )joins the group, and after this new entry, the Musty Wigs record their first ( self-production ) mini-CD, "Empty" made of 8 songs following the style of the 1st Demo, even though the hardcore is most dominating style ! This second cd seems much more "hard" and "nervous", but it's clear that there is a sound and composing improvement ! On 1999 there are many other changes of "line-up" : Emilio and Luca decide to leave, but a new singer , Peppe, joins the Musty wig, and even Angelo comes back ( he remains until the record of their 3rd work " Coffee, lemons, travels ...and fragments soundz"in October 2000 ). In their 2nd CD"Coffee... ", the bands is still linked to a hardcore style, but their songs start to follow a more original direction, with jazzy, dance and "fragment sounds" influences; the "traditional" pattern of their music starts to change. During these years the Musty Wig are present in many concerts and festivals in Neaples and Campania, since 2000 they start to play in other Italian towns too. From 2000 to 2002 the band participates to 2 italian compilations produced by WIPEOUT RECORDS (rip). The Musty Wig are contacted by two Labels DOUGHMAIN Records ( from California ) and the ATTACK Records ( from Canada ) . The first one inserts 2 songs in 's 2002 compilation : the Musty are the only europan bands to partecipate to ...among the most famous name as PULLEY. The Attack records stars to distribute their last CD " Nothing is louder then silence", recorded in the beginning of 2002. The style of their new cd abandons the HC pattern to follow a different kind, for exemple the electronic influence, nervous impulse, ...and much more ! The effect is very origianal and opens new possibilities for the MUSTY WIG !
