The band has born in 1996, playing an interesting power-classic metal and recording its first demo-CD in '99, titled "The VIII crusade": this work gives the band a good reputation in the native city, Florence. The name of the band rises after some great live shows.
After two years, new troubles in the band bring some members away. Soon, they are replaced by Massimo Sozzi at drums and Gianni Miccinesi as vocalist. The band turns the page: the new tracks sound so different from the previous; harder, much more agggressive and louder. Three songs are included in the second demo CD, "...And say goodbye to the world", promoted on the best stages in Florence and Tuscany, in Northern Italy, and in Gabrovo (Bulgaria), as headliner of the Balkan Youth Festival.
After an intense live-season and new songs composed, there's a new change in the line-up: Tommy, who was in the band from the beginning, is dismissed.
In January 2006, Holyland, stronger than ever, record the blasting "Everything comes from the pain", a three-songs Promo-CD full of character, pluck, adrenaline and speed. Featuring as bass player Andrea "Tower" Torricini, from the famous italian band Vision Divine.
After that Holyland is confirmed for the BY Festival, Sandanski, Bulgaria, in September 2006. In 2007 the band finds a new bass player: Matteo Zola Niccolai
At the same time Holyland get in touch with Alkemist Fanatix Europe to manage the band. Holyland start writing down the first full length album: they sign up with the record label Risingworks. The album is produced by Frank Andiver in October 2007. The album comes out on April 2008, titled “L.I.F.E.”.
It is dedicated to the concept of life: the band celebrates the preciousness of life and the emotive aspects through music and lyrics.
