Erich Zann was born in 2003 from the ashes of a previous band, Dyer’s Eyes. From that band, only the drummer Paolo, the guitar player Roberto (founder members) and the bass player Carlo remained in the current line-up.
Nevertheless the first year of life was characterized by frequent line-up changes due to the need to find the elements that still were missing. In fact we saw many different guitarists and singers taking part in the Erich Zann project until the critical encounter with the current guitar player Luca, that happened in the spring of 2004. Here started a kind of instrumental crucial for the development of the harmonic and compositive tendencies, peculiar of Erich Zann own sound.
A question was still left unanswered: who would give the voice to Erich Zann? After a few months and a decisive change of direction, it was decided that Erich should have a female voice, Giulia’s one. So this is how it all began.
Erich Zann started to play live joining twice (in 2005 and in 2006) the national contest Deliriock festival, and arriving both times at the final stage, after being chosen by a jury among hundreds of bands. In the latest edition of that contest Luca Pesce won the best guitar player award. In 2005 Erich Zann won the Rock Beer Festival, an other national contest. After that, in 2006 the band found its way to the local final of the international “Emergenza” contest.
During the winter 2005 the band enters in “Dodi Sound Studio”to record the first self-produced demo,called “Some Music Of”.This work sees his end in spring 2006 with five tracks.
After this the band performs a lot of gigs promoting Some Music Of and, during 2007, gets brilliant reviews on different webzine(eutk.net, heavy-metal.it, hardsounds.com,…).
An other chapter of this story begins in August 2007 with the entrance of Erich Zann in the Alkemist’s family.
