The “seed” of Ashcorn was born in 2000 when Millo (Miles,guitar) and Ronnie (drums) met each other and decided to create a band together. But at the beginning they jam just for fun…being just kids. The line up during the years has had many changes until 2002 when the band was completed with the entrance of Davide (Dave) on bass guitar and Sofia on lead vocals. In the beginning of 2003 a new member joined the band in order to improve the sound with programming and synthesizers : so Alberto ( Nails , also a guitar player) made his entry and Ashcorn was officially born. With this line up the band in 2004 recorded their first cd ‘X-Spleen-8’, and started to show their music to the underground audience. Starting from 2003 Ashcorn did a lot of concert playing in the main clubs of Rovigo. The most important events the band played in that period were the two editions of ROWOODSTOCK , (2003, 2005), the most important festival for underground bands of the city. Ashcorn’s show was one of the best ones anyone had ever seen and second time round they were headliners. With the release of X-Spleen-8, Ashcorn started playing outside Rovigo in important clubs such as Zoo Animal Sound in Ferrara and Sottosopra in Este (Padova) thanks to the record having good reviews and interviews in important national magazines such as Rock Hard, Metal Hammer and Metal Shock….and also on international music portals. X-Spleen-8 sold out…. During the first half of 2006 Ashcorn changed their singer and Tommaso ( Tommy) joined the band. The new line up played their first show at the Adria International Raceway during an event with the most representative bands of Rovigo during a Drift Car Race. With Tommy the band began writing new songs and in the autumn they entered the New Frontiers Studio of Rovigo (with the known sound engineer Ugo Bolzoni) to record a new album. During the recording sessions the band stopped to play live and open the shows of two new important and original Italian bands Ensoph and Dope Stars Inc. It was a good opportunity to test the live impact of the new song…..and a larger number of fans started following their every move!! Also outside Italy (also thanks to the revolutionary portal “MySpace) the interest around the band and its members keeps growing and spreading : people ask for new music and concerts… So at the moment the band is looking for a label….to publish their new album (working title “Visions for your instinct”)…and is also continuing to play live concerts….in September they will play their 3rd ROWOODSTOCK edition, resulting in being the greatest band of the festival. In November 2007 the band will play their first gig outside Italy, precisely in Germany. They also started a collaboration with “ALKEMIST FANATIX” management group. How can Ashcorn’s sound be described? Tommy, Miles, Nails, Dave and Ronnie like to define their music as “Hi Groove Modern Metal”…. It’s an original mix between metal, melody, rock and industrial influences…The lyrics are inspired by human themes, sci-fi novels or simply life’s experiences…
