Animal Farm Project autobiography The Animal Farm Project was born in 2001 when Franz (guitar)and AdrianZ (bass) got together with Daniele (drums), Ivan (keyboards) and Fabio (guitar). Franz and Adrianz had already worked together on some musical projects when in May 2001 they decided to originate a no-cover band that was to be above all 360° musically open. The only thing they needed was a good drummer then. Daniele replied to the ad, they rehearsed and realized they felt very good about playing together. Ivan and Fabio were introduced by Daniele who were already playing but separately in a garage outside Bologna. Since their first rehearsals they noticed different musical influences among them but were actually these differences that became the foundation for this new-born band. They like to name their sound “chemical rock”. The result is a musical freedom which moves between funky and crossover, from psychedelia to noise. In May 2002 the Animal Farm Project, still called ENTROPYA. recorded their first cd with 10 tracks. At that time the singer was Alessandro, an old friend of theirs. The band started playing live around Bologna, received good reviews and had moderate success but Alessandro ,too busy with his day job, decided to leave the band. After a long and unsuccessful search for a new singer, they decided to remain instrumental. But with a coup de theatre, 5 days before an instrumental debut in February 2005, Franz had the idea to contact Stefania who some years before had sung with the female hard-core band Mumble Rumble and was then unemployed. The concert was well received and after only 7 months the band presented their first work: 9 tracks, one completely different from the other but held together by an enthusiastic expressiveness and energy. The cd, homonymous and self-produced, is still receiving unexpected success and the Animal Farm Project are being reviewed and courted by many labels; but the Farm, much in love with freedom, is unwilling to accept compromises. In December 2006 they gave birth to the site www.animalfarmproject.it where you can listen to all the complete tracks of the cd, watch videos and have a look at pictures and news. At the moment the A.F.P. are working on new songs for a harder project than the previous one, they are always looking for live events and in September they are going to record again!
